While off work after sustaining an injury, many officers only receive 60% or less of their base salary,
creating great financial hardship for officers and their families.
A large percentage of officers are without adequate health insurance coverage.
The officer¹s financial hardship negatively impacts their immediate families,
thereby compounding the trauma they are already experiencing.
Given the large number of officers in need, the IPFCA coordinates with the police unions and police departments
across the United States to determine how THE DENTED BADGE can have the most impact.
The sad fact is that the majority of Americans take our police for granted; we forget their daily personal
sacrifice to keep us all safe in a society growing more dangerous.
